Health

All animals boarding with us at Poppy’s Holiday Hutches must be in good health, and any medical conditions discussed with us prior to us being able to board your pet. We reserve the right to refuse to accept your pet if we feel they are showing signs of illness or injury. This is for the benefit of your own pet and that of other boarders. Medication for a non-contagious existing medical problem can be administered with the pet owners consent and written instruction.

Rabbits should have been vaccinated against Myxomatosis before coming to us.

Your pet will not mix with any other animals whilst in our care, except for their own hutch mate, should they have one. Hutches are cleaned regularly and pets checked daily.

We will ensure that all pets have standard rabbit / guinea pig dry food, fresh hay, a selection of fresh vegetables / fruit, and water on a daily basis. The owner must provide any special dietary requirements or treats. Rabbits and guinea pigs will receive daily exercise in an outdoor run (subject to weather conditions), which will be secure and safe. If your pet becomes ill during his/her stay with us, we will inform you or your emergency contact immediately, and consult either your vet or our own. If your pet then requires medical attention from the vet we will transport him/her there for treatment. We will not charge for this service, but you, the owner, must meet any costs for treatment by the vet. If you have bonded pets staying with us and we need to separate them due to illness, there will be no charge for the additional accommodation. However, if they need to be separated due to fighting, you will be required to pay an extra charge. Any extra costs will be charged on collection of your pet. In the unlikely event that your pet passes away whilst in our care, we will contact you or your emergency contact immediately. If your pet is elderly and you believe that this might happen during their stay with us, you can leave instructions with us on arrival. We accept no liability in the unlikely event that your pet becomes ill or passes away whilst staying at Poppy’s Holiday Hutches. All pets are left entirely at owner’s risk. We accept no liability for any injury sustained by you whilst on our premises.

Payment

Boarding prices are calculated on a per day (or part of) basis. We do not ask for a deposit when you make your booking, so all bookings are held in good faith. However, this does mean that a hutch is reserved for you, so please inform us ASAP if you need to cancel a booking. Please provide as much notice as you can should you require any changes to your booking. We will wherever possible try to accommodate those changes. Full payment will be due on the day of arrival and only a cash payment can be accepted. We do not accept cheques nor do we have the facilities to accept payments by debit or credit card.

Abandoned Pets

In the event of an animal not being collected within 10 days of the due collection date, we reserve the right to re-home the animal. Any fees incurred as a result of the re-homing process, plus the fees for the extended stay at Poppy’s Holiday Hutches are payable in full by the owner.

General

Whilst your pet is in the care of Poppy’s Holiday Hutches, we will take every precaution to safeguard your animal. Please note that we operate a booking system for visitors. This ensures that you can be given the time you and your pet require during your visit and avoids parking congestion. We ask that you please try to keep to the delivery / collection times that have been arranged. If you are likely to be delayed for the collection of your pet, please advise us if at all possible. Should the collection move back to a later date, then the additional boarding fees applicable will be payable upon collection. We do not give refunds for pets that are collected earlier than originally booked.
